The Morning Routine!



The kids are back to school we are settling into our routines but my mornings are crazy with packing lunches, finding backpacks, and getting all the items and/or gear that they need for their after school activities ready. HOW do we get out of the house on time?!

This is the biggest complaint that I get from my clients over and over again. I have created several routines and systems that are easy to maintain and make a world of a difference in how you start your day.

Organize Your Fridge

Everything in your kitchen should have a home, meaning that everyone in the house knows where everything is. All the cereals should be together, all the snacks, drinks, etc. This way there is no wasted time trying to find things in the morning. Leave the lunch bags out and ready to go the night before, that way in the morning all you have to do is start filling them as soon as you come into the kitchen.

Use Baskets

I love keeping everything in a basket. It makes it easy for me and the kids to just go into the basket and pick a snack. In the fridge, pick a bottom shelf to store juice pouches and small snacks that the kids can grab themselves, but also it makes it easier for you.

Create a Command Center

Pick a spot in your home (usually the entryway if you have room) that everyone in can have their own hook, cubby or basket. The kids should have their own hooks and learn to hang their jackets or coats on their hooks. Shoes that will be worn should be right under the corresponding hook and if there is space, their backpacks should be there as well. That way everything that you need to leave your house in the morning is there and ready to go. I know that this can be challenging, but trust me, it works miracles.

Pick Out Clothes In Advance

Ok, next biggie that will transform your morning is picking out the children’s clothes for the week in advance. I started doing this years ago with my oldest girl who is 13 now and it worked wonders. We would have these long drawn out battles every morning until one day I said, enough of this! We started picking her clothes out every Sunday night according to the events and activities she had going on during the week and, voila! — problem solved! She couldn’t complain because she had chosen the outfit herself. We would always pick an extra outfit just in case.

These routines will definitely make your mornings less stressful!

Christmas = Full On Panic Mode!! I’m here to help


Here are some tips to help you stay on track and get everything done on time.

1- If you have not ordered or bought your holiday cards, this is the week to do it.
2- Get to the post office and buy your holiday stamps, they run out pretty fast.
3- Make your holiday card list and create your labels.
4- Make your gift list, see how many you can order on line this will safe you a lot of time and the hassle of going to the mall or crowded stores.
5- All of your holiday decorations should be up by the end of this week

To add a special touch to your home decorate with fresh poinsettias and fragrant pine cones!

Get it together!! Don’t let Christmas get away from you !!!


Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving sharing it with friends and family!
Now we are officially in Holiday mode and probably thinking about how am I going to get everything done and still have time to socialize with friends and family.

Let me help you with some tips to get organized for the holidays.
Here are some to start doing right now.

1- Now is the time to get rid of all of the thanksgiving decorations that you did not use this year and know that you will never use again.
2- Take the time to buy the proper storage to store the decorations that you will like to continue to use and label properly.
3- Start bringing out all of your Christmas decorations and decide what you will use this year and what you no longer desire.
4- Donate the ones you no longer desire, you will make someone’s Christmas special !
5-Buy the appropriate storage for the rest of the decorations that you will store. Holiday decorations organizers are seasonal and hard to find after the holidays.

This is a good starting point, will be sending more tips out to help you stay organized!

Make Life Easier … Its just a download away!!!


These are some of my favorite apps that make my life much easier and helps me stay organized.

1- Bright Nest – this app is great for home organization and cleaning schedules. You can make To-Do lists and keep track of what needs to be serviced. This is a life saver for homeowners and it is free.
2- Khan Academy – this app is amazing!!!!! It teaches you anything and everything that you want to learn. If you are like me that sometimes I have no idea what is going on in my daughter’s math class, this app is for you. It is fantastic for kids and helps parents help their children with their school work.
3- Gathered Table- organizing is my forte but the kitchen is not. ☺
You tell them your dietary needs and any food allergies that you have and they email you a personalized menu with a shopping list weekly. You can also collect, organize and share recipes.

Back To School


I cannot believe it is time to go back to school !

With September here it signals the beginning of getting back to reality and the “grind “ after enjoying the summer months. It is time to get the kids ready for a succesful school year and getting yourself organized to end the year smoothly. Here are some tips to help you achieve this.

1- Re-establish Routines:
– Do all of your prep work on Sunday nights. Pick 5 outfits plus an extra one just in case it is needed for the week. This will save you a lot time and hassles in the mornings.
– Make sure that all sports gear is packed and ready to go and that all uniforms are clean and easily available.
– Have a family calendar in a visible place to keep track of all appointments and activities.
– Schedule all school pick ups needed for the week.
– Schedule all babysitting ahead of time.
– Plan your meals for the week

2- Designante a Work Zone:
– Create a work area for you and your children. Create a command center for yourself. This is where you will keep all incoming and outgoing paper, mail, your computer and and office supplies needed. For the children you want to create a very open and clutter free area where they can sit and do their homework and will not be distracted easily.

3- Check all of your Electronic Devices:
– Make sure that all computers are up and running. If they need a little tune up make sure to take them in now to have them up and running for the school year. Check phones and tablets, delete apps no longer used, old photos and files to create more memory space.
A good app to use to store images and files that you would like to keep is dropbox.

New Year’s resolutions…

Have you achieved your New Year’s resolutions yet?
Do you often make a list of things that you are going to change, start doing or stop doing every January?
What happens – usually by the time February comes, that resolution list is nowhere to be found, right?
Well, that used to be me. I was the “queen” of making lists.
I thought that because it was a new year I was going to be able to change overnight and miraculously accomplish all of my goals. I learned over time that it’s just not that easy to change or start doing something new.
In order to accomplish your goals, you must be clear on the why, why do you want to achieve this goal and what your end result will look like. If you are clear on both of these things then you are ready to start making change in your life. It takes the will, a strong commitment and the inner desire to change. That is the key – to have the inner desire to change habits and behaviors in order to achieve your goals.
So, let’s start this month with a goal of clearing all the clutter in our environment so that we can live a more abundant and authentic life.
You’re probably thinking right now, well how do I do that? I can help you through this process, no problem!
5 Steps to rid your home of physical clutter:
  • Start with one room at a time
  • Get a small to medium size box and start filling it with items that you no longer want, need or make you happy
  • Set a timer for 30 minutes and only work for that amount of time
  • Book a donation pick-up ahead of time, that way you feel obligated to work on getting donations in order
  • Work on the same room for one week
If you begin to feel stuck on a particular item ask yourself these questions:
– Do I really need this?
– When was the last time I used this?
– Does this make me feel happy?
If you haven’t used the item for more than one year and answered “No” to the other two questions, then it’s time to release it.
Don’t know which room to start with? Start with the one that makes you feel the most uncomfortable and stressed.

Stress-Free Holiday Season


Let’s have a Stress-Free Holiday Season
With so many invitations, places to go to, and friends and family to visit this time of year can be very stressful.
I have some tips so that you can do it all and enjoy yourself through out the process.
The first thing that you have to do is PLAN.
Take out a notepad and write it all out. What kind of holiday do you want you and your family to experience this year.
Once you have that figured out then follow these simple steps.
Start Early:
– Start your decorating now; this weekend is the time for your outdoor and indoor decorating.
– This week pick your holiday picture and card. Create them yourself or place that order now. You want to send them out no later than next week.
– Get to the post office and get stamps, remember the nice ones always sell out fast. Get your mailing list in order and print out your labels.
– Plan your meals ahead of time. Stock up on everything that you need and pick one day and cook meals ahead of time or better yet hire someone that will come to your home and cook your meals for the whole week.
– Baking- if you are a baker buy and gather all of your supplies in a basket and make this a family event. Put on some holiday music maybe have an adult beverage ☺ and bake away with friends and family.
– Make sure your holiday gift list is completed. Carry it with you that way you can get things from your list at anytime.
Most importantly give yourself a deadline and only do things that you like.

Something has to Change !

Something has to Change and Change starts with Me !!!!!
Feeling overwhelmed like there just isn’t enough time in the day to do everything on your “ To Do “ list or to do the things that you just want to do?
Well that was me about 3 weeks ago!
I was back from a two week vacation had tons of laundry to do, a stack of mail to go thru, clients to see and follow-up with, get my daughter adjusted back to school, get up to speed with all of her activities….. it was never ending.
I woke up one day and said enough.
Something has to change and change starts with me !!!!
I called my trusted and much loved cleaning lady and did a thorough spring-cleaning / releasing of my home.
While she was cleaning I was releasing items that had served its purpose, no longer served me and was just taking up space for new and better things that needed to come into my life and home.
After we were done it felt great. No wait it was EXHILARATING, it felt like a new home and I felt like a new person. I even purged my closet and got rid of two bags of clothes that no longer represented me.
I now had more space, clarity, and simplicity, room to think and enjoy my home.
Simplicity is the way to go. It should be everyone’s goal.
By simplifying our life’s we reduce stress, tension, and that feeling of not having enough time to do what we really want to do.
So my question for you is: What is just ONE thing that you can do everyday to simplify your life?
It only takes one action a day, one new behavior each day to create a new healthy habit.
